    Description

This listing is for the Bianchi Mondial road racing bicycle as shown. It dates from 1984-5 and is in very good original condition . The frame was made in in the Reparto Corse division of Bianchi bicycles and has hand stamped serial number “C.033. 61” on bottom bracket, see pictures. There’s faint remains of the original Columbus tubing and Reparto Corse stickers on seat tube. It’s a size 61 cm seat tube (c-center) and has a 59cm top tube . It is made from Columbus butted tubing with proprietary Bianchi lugs and 1984-85 frame details snd very nice workmanship. It has construction details similar to the X-4 Moreno Argentin model introduced a year later . The frame snd fork retain mostly original nice celeste green finish with some decal loss and scratches It looks like the frame is chrome under the original paint . The components are Campagnolo Super Record (1981) and are in very nice original condition with light use. As for this being an Ex-Pros bike , the story is simple and direct from the original retail owner of the bike. He bought it in the fall of 1985 from Bike Tech in Philly and was told that it was left at the store by the Sammontana team after the Corestates bike race that year. They did not want to transport it back go Italy, so they left it to sell. He understood it to be Jesper Woores spare bike , who finished second that year to Eric Heiden. I bought it directly from him in 1998 or so. I immediately sold it in my shop as a used bike snd only recently purchased it back from him incomplete, so I added Super Record group. This would be suitable for someone 5 10-6-3”or so depending on leg length. Stand over height is 34” . It currently has Grand. Bois 700x30mm tires which just clear. It has a newer 6 speed freewheel and chain with low miles. I’ve added new stainless /lined brake/gear cables and tubes as well as bartape . Also included is period (1983) Piaggio water bottle in a Celeste cage. It should ride beautifully, unfortunately it’s way too big for me to test ride! Payment to include 5 S+H is USA. Please check my other mountain and road bike /parts listings up now. Thanks
