Description
This listing is for the Cinelli Absolute mountain bicycle as shown.it dates from 1989 and is in near mint original condition,a description I’m reluctant to use very often , but for this bike it applies . It is size 18”x22” top tube (48x57cm) with 26” wheels. It is made from Columbus Max OR tubing that has been shaped (flared, ovalised, etc) at the joints . It appears to be fillet brazed with very nice workmanship and attention to detail. There’s a few small nicks from shop wear but no dents or dings. All of the factory graphics are intact, with a few small rubs and corner lifts on smallest ones. It appears this bike was barely ridden at all. There is very little brake rub or visible wear to drivetrain. The tires are Ritchie Racing K Force and appear original. The components are all Shimano Deore XT black finish and have mainly “NH” date codes(1990?) The serial number is “ABSO M36 C89116158” is stamped on bb shell The handlebars are Cinelli Carbon fiber and are 22” wide. The stem is unique in that the front brake cable passed through the center of the actual bolt. Weird and fragile. The saddle is WTB gold sparkle in mint condition . There’s not much info available on this bike, other than pictures of it ( this exact bike) in a mountain bike hall of fame and good description . I got it from someone who got it directly from the family of the MTB hall of fame in NC . They think it was a prototype model to gauge possible Cinelli MTB sales in USA. There is also an Italian advertisement that also shows this exact bike with someone riding it. It is in amazing original condition with very little signs of use and would be great to display or to actually ride. Payment to include 5 S+H is USA. Please check my other mountain and road bike /parts listings up now. Thanks
