1996 Proflex 856 World Cup Design Mountain Bike FS Fully Rebuilt - Girvin XT +

Description

This is a decently rare 1996 Proflex 856 Full Suspension Mountain Bike. These frames (and the collectable Girvin forks) were known to last! This particular bike is proof! The last 856 frameset sold on eBay for 0 (it was just the frame and fork only!!!...and it was in need of rebuild). I just finished rebuilding this one and it's now ready to relive life on some dirt trails or as part of your old school collection. At some point in its life, the bike's rear shock was upgraded to Speed Springs (should last forever!). The front suspension elastomeric suspension had turned to goop long before I acquired it. I custom cut and installed 60A duro elastomers and rebuilt the Girvin...it performs as new now. The Girvin is fairly stiff. which I like, but it'll break in and squish more as it's ridden. The old elastomer goo had settled in a couple of places on the frame and made the paint weak there (Those areas didn't enjoy the cleaning too much...I posted pics of the small areas that it removed paint). Overall, the bike still looks wonderful. I professionally installed an expensive Yeti decal over the biggest bare spot (my attempt at a dad joke there). SEE PICS FOR COSMETICS...THE FRAME HAS NO REAL DENTS AND NO CRACKS. THE BIKE IS STRUCTURALLY SOUND! This is a rare ride and is sure to make someone super stoked to relive the late 90s!
