Did you follow the troubleshooting diagram in the Max Trainer Service Manual for "Clicking, Clunking, or Knocking" and find that you need "wave washers" and/or "felt washers" that are almost impossible to find?  Well BINGO, here you go!
Product description:
This anti-clunk/knock service kit fits all BowFlex Max Trainer models including M3, M5, M6, M7, M8, M9, etc...  This kit is designed to reduce noise in your Bowflex Max Trainer by reducing roller slap on the lower legs, and preventing side-to-side snap on the crank arms as they rotate.  Washers in this kit are provided with newer Max Trainers; however, these washers were not installed on earlier Max Trainer models and were only briefly offered to customer's who made warranty claims due to knocking and clunking on earlier machines.  Buyers of newer
pre-owned units may also find that the original owner simply failed to follow the assembly instructions and did not install some or all of these washers.
One knock/clunk service kit completely services one machine (both left and right legs).
Each service kit includes:
2 - Wave Washers
: These are installed where the legs attach to the crank arms, one washer per leg assembly (see photos).  The wave washer is an incredibly strong yet thin spring that applies an even outward pressure to keep the leg's pivoting arm pushed out against the hex bolt while still allowing side-to-side "play" needed to prevent binding and wear.  These wave washers are of proper diameter and thickness to match those provided with current Max Trainer machines.
Simply remove the 6mm hex bolt
Lift the roller assembly from the rail and slide the leg from the crank arm
Place the spring washer on the exposed crankarm shaft
Reinstall the leg and 6mm hex bolt
4 - Felt Washers
: These mount on the lower legs between the rollers and the metal wheel bracket (2 washers per roller).  These felt washers are die cut in the USA from high quality industrial felt manufactured to SAE-F specifications for high/quality wool content, strength, density, hardness, and resistance to abrasion.  These industrial felt washers provide a durable cushion between the hard plastic roller core and the steel frame to prevent knocking and banging, while still allowing side-to-side "play" that prevents binding, heat, and wear.
Simply lift the roller from the rail (it may be helpful to place a towel under the roller to prevent scratching your Max Trainer)
Remove one of the 6mm hex bolts from either side of the roller axle
Slide the axle out far enough to place one washer on each side of the roller
Slide the axle back into place
Reinstall the 6mm hex bolt
Repeat for the other leg

A word of advice: Rubber washers, rigid plastic washers, and metal washers shown in many online DIY clunk repair tutorials can harm your equipment.  DIY clunk solutions often "solve" the clunk by altering or eliminating the side-to-side play that has been purposefully engineered into the machine.  While this can reduce noise and people do leave favorable comments based on "solving" the clunk issue, these fixes can result in binding, heat build-up, and machine wear resulting in premature part failure.  Some Max Trainer models now sell for 00 or more and Nautilus offers few replacement parts.  It would be wise to protect your investment.

IF YOU HAVE A NEWER MAX TRAINER, YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE THESE PARTS INSTALLED AND MAY NOT NEED THIS KIT.  PLEASE CHECK BEFORE ORDERING.
*NOTE THAT THE HARD PLASTIC ROLLER CORE IS A NATURAL BUFF COLOR THAT IS SIMILAR IN SIZE TO A FELT WASHER.  THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS THE FELT WASHER NEXT TO THE ROLLER CORE (FELT WASHER IS ON THE LEFT, ROLLER CORE IS ON THE RIGHT).
