VINTAGE 1960’s 3-Speed Twist-Grip Hercules 26” Bike Bicycle #197932 SURVIVOR

Unmolested, as found many many years ago, and then stored in a climate controlled space. It was frozen in time when I found it, and could not ride it because of the seized chain, but knew I had to have it. These pictures were taken before some necessary lubrication was done. My wife wanted to take a ride with me recently, so I lubricated the chain by dripping Marvel mystery oil from an eye dropper, and carefully lubed twist grip throttle before and after the disassembly/reassembly. I also dropped a few drops on all other moving parts, and where moving parts contact each other, being careful to clean up if any oil got on painted surfaces. I also dripped some marvel into the shifter cable until I could slide it freely, and lubed the chain into the hub. Everything seen and could be got to was made wet with a Marvel Oil. That is the extent of my service call, besides wiping down the entire bike with a slightly oiled shop rag for a little protection. It rides beautifully! The Faux Rhinestone studded mudflap and Safety Club Sticker are priceless! A balanced, true ride with no loping coming from the wheels which is so often the death of vintage rims. The tires hold air at recommended pressure and no dry rot found. Nice. Ready to go, or complete the lube and safety check throughout the crank, yoke and hubs if you wish. A little wave and crease on the top side of the chain guard where someone may have rested their foot when not pedaling. I am confident that no one ever hung it upside down from the rims. Luggage carrier bag of the same color scheme, also Made in England. serial # 197932. I do not know what year it was made and I will not give away my first born and pin numbers to find out, as the bike library sites seem to demand.
