Vintage 1978 Trek TX900 Columbus SL Frameset 21” gravel Randonneur Rivendell

1978 Trek TX900 Framset, campagnolo headset, campagnolo cable guides, campagnolo shifters, and nuovo record bb. The wheelset is for display purposes only. The wheelset is not included in auction. This is what Trek refers to as the 21” size, or about 54cm frame. If you know Trek history then you know this is a very early, fairly rare handmade Frameset. It was their top of the line road bike offered during these first years. Silver brazed with Columbus SL tubing in their Wisconsin barn. I was going to build it up as a lightweight Randonneur but that never happened. I did put in 650bx38 tires and they fit great. Easily fits 700x32c (pictured). Has eyelets for fenders and room for 32c wide tires. Everything in the pictures is included except the wheelset. The rest of the bottom bracket will be included and is complete. The headset is mismatched and feels pitted (bottom cup is not original). Everything else is original campagnolo nuovo record. Small ding on the right seat stay shown in the last picture. Please review all of the pictures, they are the best description for condition. Frame is straight and in good condition otherwise. Paint is good but there is your usual wear from use. This will make a very cool gravel grinder/ Randonneur project for someone. Bike is in storage and I didn’t measure top tube, I’ll look for dimensions and update. Thanks for looking!
