Classic, Hand-made in England, Vintage 1979 Raleigh Competition G.S. Racing bicycle, in great condition. Black color on a 23.5in (seattube t-c) frame. Reynolds 531 Double-Butted steel tubes and chrome-plated stays w/Campagnolo ends, Bocama Professional lugs with cutouts, and Reynolds 531 Taper Gauge chrome-plated fork w/Campagnolo ends. Gents model, 10-speed racing bike. As this bike is essentially 42 years old, all original wear and tear items have been replaced. Examples would be all bearings, retainer rings, and grease points on the hubs, bottom bracket, and headset.
It has 700c Wolber Super Champion Gentleman front and rear alloy wheels with polished Campagnolo hubs w/Campagnolo skewers. It has newer Veloflex Master 23 700x23mm tan-walled tires with Vittoria tubes and Velox cloth rim tape.
Original Raleigh Italienne alloy handlebar with brand new Velox black cloth bar tape w/Velox black bar plugs. Original SR Royal alloy stem with original Campagnolo chrome headset. Upgraded DIA COMPE GX side-pull brake calipers with front and rear wheel quick releases. I upgraded the brake levers to double-slotted DIA COMPE brake levers w/DIA COMPE Natural brake hoods (NOS). I installed Jagwire black CGX-SL brake housings with slick-stainless brake cables and polished alloy Campagnolo brake cable guides. It has the original Campagnolo Gran Sport alloy 42/52T 170mm crankset with original Campagnolo dust caps. Complete original Campagnolo Gran Sport bottom bracket assembly. Pedals are great condition original Campagnolo Gran Sport 9/16” threaded polished alloy quill pedals w/Christophe Toe Clips and black leather Christophe pedal straps.
Original great condition Brooks Professional brown leather saddle w/copper rivets. The seatpost is the original Campagnolo Gran Sport light alloy polished micro-adjustable 27.2mm seatpost and it has the original CRMO polished seat binder bolt.
Upgraded to a new Sedisport silver/black 1/2”x3/32” chain w/5-speed Suntour Pro Compe freewheel. The front derailleur is the original Campagnolo Gran Sport in great condition. The rear derailleur is the original Campagnolo Gran Sport with brand new Jagwire slick-stainless steel cables and original Campagnolo shift cable housings. Shift levers are the original downtube mounted Campagnolo Gran Sport polished alloy shifters.
The bike runs well in the traditional friction style as all cables/housings were just replaced, hubs have been overhauled, and the chain has been ran thru the cleaner three times and re-lubed. The paint is 7/10 and decals are probably a 8/10 as far as condition goes, that's just my honest opinion. There are no dings on the frame or forks, it has been well taken care of. I’m very meticulous with the care of my bikes and it shows.

This bike has been fully stripped down, properly washed, polished, and reassembled including all components as seen.
