    Description

    Vintage Inuit (Canadian Arctic Indigenous) Soapstone Carving.  Appears to be a Puffin (Bird).  There is a partial label/sticker on the back which reads "0103__", "Nau___" (next letters might be "ja" = "Nauja"), and hand written "AJ".  I am unsure who the artist is, but a quick search brought up Inuit artists Juanisi Nauja & Peter Nauja Angiju as possible matches with the name.  Measures approx. 3" x 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" tall.  This carving is used and in excellent condition.  Please see photos for more details.
