    Description

For sale is a Northwest Coast totem pole with four images. From top to bottom: beaver, raven, hawk, and frog.
This totem is made from cedar with an applied dark stain; indicative of Coast Salish cedar carvings from the mid 20th century.
The measurements are 16" H X 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 on a slightly larger base. The back is hollowed making the totem thinner and more difficult to carve.  Even though the carver is unknown it takes a lot of skill to carve a thinner piece of wood as it is more fragile.
On the base is an address:  I don't believe that has anything to do with the origins of the totem.  The address
    is
the "Rotary Club" of Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada.  Most likely it  was a gift or award from the club at the time.  Note the phone number only has 7 digits (as opposed to 10 digit telephone numbers used for several decades already here in BC).
This is a very nice example of a vintage Canadian Northwest Coast cedar totem.
I have been selling Northwest Coast art on ebay since 1999 so buy with confidence.
