As is often the case with Indigenous handcraft, it turns out that the maker was important in other ways.  The maker here Lavinia Brown  was a pioneer in Indigenous government and health care according to the web which Ebay will no longer allow me to post.  I chose this piece because it is simple and the colors are simply the best.  The blue is a good medium blue and it makes the figures seem to be backed by the sky. Lovely cheerful boots on figures in profile.  Think of this in a child's room!   The original tag the cost at 0 canadian.  IF the woman Lavinia Brown is the same as the one I found on the web she is getting up in years.  Piece retains original tags.
